"Only a Game," NPR at U.S. Champs

A reporter from Boston's local NPR outlet, WBUR, was in attendance at the 2011 U.S. Middle-distance Orienteering Championships events near Boston, October 22, 2011. Doug Tribou interviewed a number of Orienteering USA athletes and officials to prepare a segment for their program, "Only a Game."

The broadcast containing this segment will be aired Saturday, November 19, 2011. You will be able to listen to the program, online and live, at 7:00 AM Eastern time, and again at 7:00 PM. The broadcaster's website contains a list of stations around the United States that also carry the program. See the options below for a chance to listen in on this broadcast.

  • The flagship station, 90.9 WBUR, Boston airs the program Saturday at 7:00am and again at 7:00pm. You can listen live online at those times at www.wbur.org. Click the red “listen live” button.

  • From the website linked above, select “Only A Game” in the lower drop down box and you’ll get a complete list of affiliates and the times they air the show:  http://www.wbur.org/syndication?program=Only-A-Game

  • Only a Game's main page: http://onlyagame.wbur.org/
There’s a big photo in the middle of the page. By late Friday afternoon, you’ll see a list of links in red underneath the picture (what’s there now is last weekend’s list). One of them will be about orienteering. When you click on it, you’ll find the page for the interview. That page will remain up permanently, in case you want to link to it or share it. (Again, the individual link for orienteering probably will not be up until late Friday afternoon, November 18).
