U.S. to host six World Ranking Events in 2012

The International Orienteering Federation has approved six World Ranking Events (WRE) in the U.S. for calendar year 2012: the sprint, middle, and long races at the U.S. Individual Championships in April, to be held in Georgia; and the sprint, middle, and long distance races at the North American Championships in October, held in Pennsylvania. The North American Championships are a Regional Championship event held biennially in even numbered years, currently rotated between the U.S. and Canada but open to any North American orienteering federation.

In addition, Canada will host two WREs at the Canadian Orienteering Championships in August, held in the Edmonton area of Alberta.
