U.S. Team to WOC 2013 - in Review

For the first time ever, Orienteering coverage was available on TV in the United States, both live and recorded, thanks to the efforts of the president of the IOF, Brian Porteus, and NBC's Universal Sports Network. Selected WOC 2013 race summaries are available to all (broadcast rights extend through May 2014); full replays are only available to USN subscribers. USN race video summaries available to anyone:

The United States sent a talented team of orienteers to Finland for the 2013 World Orienteering Championships. Results and links to maps and photos are on the Team @WOC 2013 page.

The top individual results included Ali Crocker qualifying for all three finals (Sprint, Long, Middle) and her U.S.-best placing of 18th in the Long Distance race. The women's relay team placed ahead of Canada's, and the men's relay team finished 27th overall, two places higher than their previous best placing (though two places behind Canada's relay team).
