Orienteering USA Competitive Awards for 2011

Nominations are being taken for the 2011 Orienteering USA Annual Competitive Awards Program. The Program’s goals are to recognize and reward outstanding competitive accomplishments by US orienteers at the end of every year.

The winners will be announced and receive prizes. Commemorative plaques will be awarded to the winners at a public ceremony at a major US orienteering event.

The awards are:

(a) Orienteer of the Year -- awarded to the best USA orienteer in 2011, based on results at national and international events.

Clubs compete to earn $500 prize from Orienteering USA

Orienteering USA is proud to announce the formation of two contests designed to promote local meet participation and Orienteering USA membership. Clubs can win up to $500 per contest and there are equal opportunities for our smaller clubs as well.

The income generated by increased starts and memberships will be invested back in the sport of orienteering.
