U.S. Team at 2015 World Orienteering Championships

The United States sent a talented team of orienteers to Scotland for the 2015 World Orienteering Championships. Race assignments, results and links to maps and photos are below.

Support the Team by making a donation and designating it for the Senior Team. Next year's World Orienteering Championships will take place in Sweden, August 20-28, 2016.

  • Women: Kseniya Popova, 29th heat 2; Alex Jospe, 21st heat 3; Ali Crocker, 6th heat 1 (less than 1 minute behind leader!)
  • Men: Greg Ahlswede, 29th heat 1; Ken Walker Jr, 30th heat 3; Ethan Childs, 30th heat 2

Saturday, August 1 Mixed Sprint Relay, Nairn; results | winsplits

The U.S. Team of Tori Borish, Samantha Saeger, Giacomo Barbone, Greg Ahlswede finished 26th (total time 73:36). Medalists were Denmark (60:54), Norway (62:15), and the Russian Federation (62:20)

Alison Crocker qualified for the Sprint Final with a 6th place finish in her qualifying heat. She put in an outstanding effort, placing 15th in the overall standings, the highest finish for a U.S. orienteer the World Orienteering Championships. Her recollections on Attackpoint.
