2014 President's Award Recipients

President Peter Goodwin presented several awards to recognize those who have made significant contributions to the sport of orienteering in the United States during the past year.

Clare Durand

Clare Durand received a President’s Award for her work as President of Orienteering USA and then, when she left the board, her continued work as the rules committee chair, re-writing the rules and updating them so that they are current, not historic.

Frank Kuhn

Frank Kuhn was given a President’s Award for his long service to Orienteering USA as a board member and his active involvement in IOF business. His participation at board meetings around the country was constant and his work with Trail-O helped keep that part of Orienteering USA moving forward.

Mikell Platt

Mikell Platt received a President’s Award for his work with Orienteering USA financials over the years and a wonderful presence at the Laramie Daze for eons. The enjoyment given to orienteers over the years as they run on wonderful terrain east of Laramie is epic.
