2018 Silva and Golden Service Award Nominations Sought

The Annual General Meeting of Orienteering USA will be held on Saturday, September 1st, as part of the Rocky Mountain Orienteering Festival in Laramie, Wyoming. One of the highlights of the AGM will be the naming of the recipients of the 2018 Silva National Service Award and 2018 Golden Service Awards. There are a lot of orienteers who have given a lot of themselves to advance orienteering in this country. The Golden Service Awards program is a wonderful way of honoring these people.

2017 Annual Fundraising Campaign

As we approach our main fundraising campaign of the year, I first wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has ever given money to OUSA. We are largely a self-funded sport, and without your generosity, we would certainly not have as robust of a sport as we have today…and certainly not quite as much fun!

Announcing New Event Register Administrator

For the past few years, as many of you know, Kent Shaw and Orienteering USA have worked in cooperation to develop and launch Event Register, the U.S. event registration system for orienteering events, primarily A-meets. This has truly been a labor of love for Kent as he conceptualized it and grew it into what it is today.

Late last year, Kent let the web committee know that he would like to step down from his involvement with Event Reg. While we are sorry to see him go, we respect his wishes and truly thank him for his time and efforts in promoting our sport.
