TeamUSA Announces 2024 WUOC Roster

The Selection Committee – Jon Torrance, Andrea Berger, Eric Bone, Ethan Childs, and Ioana Fleming – is pleased to announce the 2024 US Team to compete at the FISU World University Orienteering Championships in Bankso, Bulgaria from August 1st-5th, 2024. The WUOC competition is held every other year.

WUOC ’22 Event Recap

August 15-22, 2022

Eleven members were selected to represent TeamUSA at the World University Championships in Switzerland. Team members Thomas Laraia & Peter Zakrevski were originally selected but could not attend due to injury and Edgardo Cruz (1st alternate) was promoted to the team to fill the vacancy. Additionally, Anthony (AJ) Riley made it to Switzerland but did not race, also due to apparent injury. Evalin Brautigam accompanied the team as coach and Michelle Kastner also provided team support and some of the official photos.

  • Forest Relay Day – TeamUSA fielded two championship eligible womens teams.
    • United States 1 included Bridget, Jessica & Julia.
    • United States 2 consisted of Diana, Kirsten & Oriana.
    • On the men’s side Keegan, Danny & Eddie ran as United States 1.
    • Tyler joined Farrand Graeme of Canada & Hus Martijn (a Belgian) as Mixed 4 (non-eligible).

TeamUSA Welcomes Newest Members

The Executive Steering Committee is pleased to announce the promotion of four athletes to the US National Team bringing the TeamUSA roster to 36 athletes for 2022.

Sergei will be competing in Denmark next month as part of our 6-person team at the 2022 Sprint World Orienteering Championships (WOC). In July, Anna & Holden will be part of our 10-person roster competing at the 2022 Junior World Championships (JWOC) in Portugal and Tyler joins our 12-person squad heading to Switzerland for the biennial 2022 World University Orienteering Championships (WUOC) in mid August.

We’re looking forward to a great summer of international racing with full teams traveling to all the major competitions, including the The World Games right here in the US. Congratulations to all the athletes on the 2022 TeamUSA Roster!!

2022 WUOC Team Announced

The selection committee for the World University Orienteering Championships (WUOC) is pleased to announce the 2022 team for this biennial competition. The committee members are Linda Kohn, Peggy Dickison, Will Enger and Jeff Saeger.

The competition will be held in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland from August 16-21, 2022 and is open to athletes between ages 18 & 25 that are currently registered in a degree/diploma granting program of study at a recognized institution of higher learning or having earned said degree within the prior 12 month period.

WUOC ’22 Team Applications now open

The 2022 World University Orienteering Championships will be held August 16-21 in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland with the event center at Magglingen, the Swiss Federal Institute for Sport..

Selection of the 2022 WUOC Team will be by petition and applications are now being accepted. Please review the 2022 WUOC Team Selection Criteria document in the OUSA Library.

Important: Athletes interested in applying for the team should note that participation in at least two races from the following list* of events is required: 

The team selection petitions will be reviewed & decided by the WUOC Selection Committee. Anyone who wishes to apply to be part of the 2022 WUOC Team needs to fill out and submit the WUOC 2022 Petition no later than March 17, 2022.
